In the morning hours of 2/9/13, the Greek police conducted an operation for investigation and eviction of theOrfanotrofio squat. Seven squatters were arrested inside the building and all of them were acquitted of all charges at the trial that followed.
Today, on Saturday morning, September 28th, 2013, a group of comrades reoccupied the building. Repressive forces of all kinds arrived and surrounded the area and the solidarians that had gathered outside and were shouting slogans. The comrades inside the building, went out on the rooftop, where they read a text about the resquatting. Shortly afterwards, cops went inside the building and detained 30 comrades.
On Wednesday 18/9 dawn, in the district of Amphiali on P. Tsaldari street, neonazis stabbed to death Pavlos Fyssas (KillahP), 34 years old, known for his antifascist activity. The murder took place before the eyes of the Greek police. The murderer Giorgos Roupakias admitted his guilt and to being a member of the nazi organization Golden Dawn. This comes on the top of the efforts of the mass media to conceal the true political motive beyond the murder.
The four cops, murderers of Sakellion, were judged innocent
"... The decision on my child's life came out in a few minutes. The judges came in after the conference, stood up and told everyone a word that wasn't heard. They took their things and left. I remained speechless and asked "what happened?". I thought it was another postponement or interruption. Only when the defendants started kissing their lawyers I realized they were judged innocent ... »
On May 2008, 24 year old Nikos Sakellion falls dead on Anaxagoras street in Athens. An eyewitness said that four cops were beating Sakellion, who was handcuffed, with punching him in the head until he collapsed on the pavement. Furthermore, the eyewitness recorded a video, using his mobile phone, capturing the cops around the beaten man. During his transport to the hospital, the cops start claiming that Sakellion swallowed a bag of heroin and was drowned. However, the doctors who received the ambulance and transported Sakellion performed a tracheal intubation without finding anything relevant. In an attempt to cover up this horrible murder the Hellenic Police vanished the lifeless body for 12 hours and brought it in forensic service when the putrefaction process had begun.
After six years of continuous postponements, the cops were judged innocent of murder. During the process, the coroner submitted that it's impossible that Sakellion's cause of death was drowning and that it was without outside "interference." Besides, the bag of heroin wasn't found during the endotracheal intubation performed by doctors during the emergency medical transportation, but after the disappearance and reappearance of the body, i.e the cops put it there. Also, the court declined the request to view the video recorded by the eyewitness.
Once again, the police-judicial complex covers up in a vulgar and provocative way a horrible murder, performed by the uniformed murderers of the regime. It's the same industry that produces the guilty, the imprisoned, the beaten and the murdered that's directed against the impoverished, the debtors, the immigrants and refugees, the social activists, against any one who rises or opposes the system.

All four of them deny participation in the organization, defending in the same time their anarchist identity.
A few days before the end of the maximum length of his pre-trial detention, K. Sakkas, was informed that it will continue for the next 6 months, without any excuse.
The experiments of the state against the imprisoned fighters is a rehearsal of a generalized war against all oppressed people and are added to the list along with the Greek Police Special Forces (EKAM) in strikes, the police raid in squats, the chemicals against protesters, night raids and arrests in Ierissos, DNA-based prosecutions etc.
Since the 4th of June, K. Gournas, C. Kortesis, D. Koufontinas and V. Stathopoulos have refused prison meals. Since the 6th of June Rami Syrianos and Spiros Stratoulis and since 17th June Ilias Karantouman.
Cops detained comrades during solidarity action with Athens IMC and 98FM radio
In the morning of April 24th, as part of solidarity actions with counter-information media that were recently gagged by the Greek State with the aid of the rector of the National Technical University of Athens, Simos Simopoulos, a large banner was placed at Propylaea on Panepistimiou street in downtown Athens, reading: “Raise your voice – Fight against state censorship – Athens.indymedia.org & Radio98fm.org” while a red and black flag was raised on the building, replacing their Greek national flag.
A couple of hours later MAT anti-riot squadrons and motorcycle cops encircled the building. More than 30 comrades who participated in the solidarity intervention were detained by the police and transferred to the police headquarters, on Alexandras avenue.
Demo in memory of anarchist Lambros Foundas and in solidarity to to the members of the RS and those who are accued in the same case
...in memory of the Anarchist comrade Labros Foundas, member of Revolutionary Struggle
3 years ago on the 10 of March 2010, comrade Lambros Foundas fell fighting in an armed clash with the police in an attempt to expropriate a car, which would be used in the organization's actions. Lambros Foundas is one of us and lost his life fighting for freedom. The actions of this comrade were associated with the struggle against the economic and political elite, in response to the global financial crisis that wants to impose on the world a new totalitarianism. The highest respect to be paid to a comrade who lost his life in the struggle, is the continuation of the struggle for social revolution and a society of equality and freedom.
...and in solidarity to the members of Rvolutionary Struggle and those prosecuted for the same case
The trial of the Revolutionary Struggle case is in its final stage. Throughout the trial the courtroom evolved into a confrontation field where the actions and positions of Revolutionary Struggle were explained in the context of the fight against the regime and the conditions of modern totalitarianism, with the ultimate aim of Social Revolution. At the same time, through this trial the voice of the comrades who while acting within the context of other forms of struggle were targeted for their choices is heard. Through their testimonies, the diversity of the movement was ratified while they defended their political integration and action within the anarchist milieu. Today more than ever it is imperative that our solidarity is aimed at sharpening the struggle for social liberation.
Solidarity campaign for liberated spaces and anarchist comrades worldwide
Call for a worldwide campaign of direct actions in solidarity with liberated spaces from the 2nd to the 12th of February 2013.
But we don’t want to stop after a couple of actions, because this is much more than just a reaction to repression. This is a call out to all anarchists and anti-authoritarians to fight now across the world.
Even though the recent onslaught of the Greek State against the anarchist/anti-authoritarian spectrum was the initial spark for writing this call, several examples around the globe show us that the police and municipal authorities along with giant corporations are cooperating excellently with each other, attacking solidarian structures and pacifying societies at a transnational level. During the past few weeks and months, in parts of the world, where people suffer from the systematic impoverishment and extended gentrification plans, it increasingly came to State/Capital’s attacks on radical movements, including repression against concrete forms of resistance such as land occupations, autonomous projects, company headquarters’ occupations, or strike actions. It thus deems important that we also connect our struggles worldwide, and fight back in the here and now. Action in response to attacks on squatted spaces at your location could be the spark for you. Take action on the streets and let your imagination run wild to spread the message of active resistance.
Our comrades are still imprisoned across the world. Many of our self-organized spaces are being raided or evicted, our infrastructure is under siege, and our counter-information media are censored or hindered. Whenever we express our ideas in public, uniformed robocops are lurking everywhere. Surveillance machinery follows every single move we make, while the State counts on the support of an armed fascist mob… But our existential fight is more than defence of solid spaces.
So, it’s time we say enough with permanent defeatism. Social war is waged independently from evictions or detentions. There are no borders in our hearts. For each project destroyed, two new ones should arise across the globe. For each imprisoned comrade, our actions should do the talking.
Once again, the State is trying to terrorise by means of sudden raids against occupied self-organized spaces.
Villa Amalias squat is located in a building at the junction of Heyden and Acharnon streets since 22 years ago. Within the squat hundreds of political and cultural events have been taking place (concerts, theatrical performances, screenings etc), while the anti-commercial culture that opposes the culture of sale and profit, power and property has found its place.
It is clear now, after so many daily attacks against the antiauthoritarian/anarchist movement, that the antisocial forces of the economic and political authoritarianism aim towards the outforcing of the movement and on the limiting of the public discussion/agenda that is determined solely by the mainstream media and the Nazis, prohibiting self-organized actions that start from below and are uncontrollable, as well as unguidable by the existing political parties.
According to the info which has been published so far on Athens Indymedia, 8 comrades from the occupation were detained, and an investigation is being conducted in the building by repressive forces of the state. As an action of solidarity within the specific squat around 200 people already gathered themselves in Acharnon Street right opposite to the occupation.
We express our solidarity to Villa Amalias and to the comrades who struggle in this free social space.
Update : State and repression will not silent us. Despite the power outage, Athens IMC is back!
We stand and fight for free speech.
Since the generalized attack on an entire society in terms of labour, social and political rights has been answered massively last Sunday, 12/2, with the concentration of hundreds of thousands of protesters across Greece, the Power plays its last card, that of intensification of repression, to recoup the social rage.
On Sunday morning, dozens of activists were kidnapped by the State-terrorist, some even from their homes. Four protesters in Athens, defenders of the right to life, and not mere survival, were imprisoned before their trial that it may take months until it starts. Others were prosecuted three days after the protest gatherings and demonstrations in other Greek cities. A few days before that, in TV channels and the media, sold-out politicians, collaborators of the Troika’s executives raise questions over the operation and existence of Indymedia.
With an announcement on Friday afternoon, 17/2, the Rector of Athens Polytechnic School warns the public about power outages in university buildings on ‘maintenance’ grounds! So, they have found a way to gag athens.indymedia.org, cutting the electric power. They already launched cyber attacks on Athens IMC server last Sunday, 12/2, during the big demonstrations across the country.
This announcement smells of state repression from miles away, especially if we take into account the sequence of events and pressures of the past week, with the hardening of the regime’s attitude. This smells like bad news in view of the upcoming protest mobilization of large parts of society, on Sunday, February 19th, since Athens IMC is one of the few key spaces where events are communicated by the participants without any mediation or distortion by the submissive corporate media.
But they will keep finding us in front of them.
PS. We haven’t forgotten, of course, all previous failed repressive manipulations of the State, in coordination with the fascists, even back then, when they did not cooperate officially with each other and kept some formal distance…
From https://chat.koumbit.net you may login to IRC channel of Athens IMC for immediate diffusion of updates, picking a distinctive nickname for [Nicknames:] and typing #athens in the field [Channels:]
